This curriculum includes:

  • The children's course - Six 20-minute lessons which include mindfulness, loving-kindness practice videos, semi-animated content from May All People and Pigs Be Happy and discussion guides exploring emotions, mindfulness and loving-kindness practices.

  • Access to the course content and community for 6 months.

  • 45-minute pre-recorded parent training video to be used before you begin teaching or as a refresher.

  • Weekly 1/2 hr. check-ins with Micki Fine M.Ed. via Zoom.

  • An online community moderated weekly by Micki Fine M.Ed.

  • Supplemental mindfulness & loving-kindness resources

Outline for the Children's Course

We recommend spacing each of the six 20-minute lessons one week apart.

  • Lesson #2 - Caring for emotions - Loving-kindness for oneself

  • Lesson #3 - Connecting emotions and behaviors - Loving-kindness for loved ones

  • Lesson #4 - Expanding caring beyond family and friends - Diversity thru Loving-kindness

  • Lesson #5 - Emotional regulation - Loving-kindness for the difficult person

  • Lesson #6 - Connecting with the world - Loving-kindness for all beings

Founder & Curriculum Author Micki Fine M.Ed.

Micki Fine M.Ed. - certified mindfulness instructor and founder of Mindful Living in Houston, Texas. Micki has taught MBSR courses, workshops, and retreats since 1994. In addition, she was a licensed professional counselor in private practice for over 25 years. She's taught mindfulness and loving-kindness at The Jung Center, Rice University, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and helped teach MBCT with Zindel Segal, Phd. at the Omega Center.

A 3-hour training with Micki Fine M.Ed. focuses on mindfulness and loving-kindness instruction and practice, and guidance for teaching in the course through the lens of those practices.
This training is offered via Zoom on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 4-7 p.m. CST/CDT.
